Custom Orthotics

Prescription-grade shoe inserts are custom-made orthotics that protect and gently reposition the heel, arch, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones in the feet. Orthotics allows the mechanisms in the foot to function together, making each step pain-free, as nature intended.
Custom-made orthotics are developed from non-weight bearing moulds of your feet, unlike over-the-counter shoe inserts. Each orthopedic device is designed to meet your particular requirements. Usually, these devices are made of comfortable, very sturdy materials, and can be built to fit in most types of shoe.
It has been shown that custom orthotics help relieve pain and minimize inflammation caused by these common foot conditions such as Plantar fasciitis, Arch pain, Diabetes-related pain, Bunions, Hammer’s toe, corns & calluses.
- Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
- Neuromas and metatarsalgia (pain in the ball of the foot)
- Bunions
- Claw Toes
- Achilles tendinitis
- Arch and ankle pain
- Shin pain or shin splints
- Knee problems
- Hip and back pain
- Pronation (flat feet)
- Supination (high arch feet)
- Tibialis posterior dysfunction
Compression Stockings
Compression stockings are advanced stockings intended to help avoid and prevent the incidence of venous disorders such as edema, phlebitis and thrombosis from going further. Compression stockings are elastic clothing worn around the thigh, compressing the limb, exerting pressure on the legs, decreasing the distended vein diameter, allowing the velocity of venous blood flow and valve efficacy to increase. Compression therapy helps lower venous pressure, avoids venous stasis and venous wall impairments, and relieves legs that are heavy and aching.
Compression stockings use stronger elastics, unlike a conventional dress or athletic stockings and socks, to create significant pressure on the thighs, ankles and feet. Compression stockings at the ankles are tightest and become less constrictive towards the knees and thighs progressively. The circulating blood is pushed into smaller circulatory channels by compressing the superficial nerves, arteries and muscles. As a result, there is a rise in arterial pressure, allowing more blood to return to the heart and less blood to pool in the feet.

Orthopedic Shoes

Orthopedic shoes are specially designed shoes to relieve discomfort associated with many foot and ankle disorders, such as blisters, bunions, calluses and corns, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, or spurs of the heel. Individuals with diabetes or individuals with unequal leg lengths may also wear them. Usually, these shoes have a low heel, appear to be wide with an especially large toe box, and have a strong heel to provide additional support. To provide additional arch support, some might even have a removable insole or orthotic.
Custom Made Shoes
The shoes that are individually patterned and made over a changed positive image of the individual’s foot are custom-made shoes. Custom-made shoes may be standard or therapeutic.

TENS

The use of electrical current generated by a system to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes is transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). By definition, TENS encompasses the full spectrum of transcutaneously applied currents used for nerve excitation, although the word is also used to define the form of pulses generated by portable stimulators used to treat pain with a more restrictive purpose. Using two or more electrodes, the device is normally attached to the skin. Pulse width, frequency and intensity can be modulated by a standard battery-operated TENS unit.
Body Braces
A brace is a system that firmly clamps items together or that, in particular, provides support. Back Brace, Wrist Brace, Knee Brace, Elbow Brace & other braces and supports are some common braces for various parts of the body.

Shoe Modifications

Shoe modifications means adaptations made to footwear to improve foot function and or accommodate specific pathologies.
